Subtitles files come from different sources and synced to many different releases. Most recent TV shows are released from TV captures so subtitles synced to them, most likely, will not sync with dvdrips or webrips releases. Using a program like Subtitle Edit allows you to adjust the subtitle timing to your personal needs or liking regardless of what release the subtitle is synced to. Subtitle Edit is not hard to use.
