Do "One-0ff" UK shows often get captioned?

I see someone did REG, thanks very much!  Is there much hope for other one-off shows, like ESCAPE TO THE CHATEAU, RICH BROTHER-POOR BROTHER, RESCUE DOG-SUPER DOG?  And if I may ask for guidance, am I more likely to find them here in the Forum (as REG was), or just keep waiting and searching the main database?  Thanks to all for all of your work,  Jack

Hello @jreynolds!

Here, we post sometimes raw subtitles of UK shows mostly, hoping that someone could correct them (dialog dashes, casing, etc.), then post them on addic7ed. If you're looking for subs of good quality, choose addic7ed. :) However, we can help you find (rare) closed captions if you need.

Here you go:  Escape to the Chateau S01E01.srt

Enjoy!

Hello @vivelalto - THANK YOU EXTREMELY MUCH!  I had no idea such customized and immediate help was available for captions (let alone for most things in life!).  How kind of you to help me with this.  My one little problem is that of the three you posted, I seem to only be able to download the first.  The other two show a php link, but the file does not seem to be there.  I have tried a couple of different (Mac) browsers, and all the DL methods  I know about, without success.  I notice that the php instructions for the first one call for http://www.sub-talk.net/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=1947, whereas the other two call for http://www.sub-talk.net/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=o_1al1on3ms1murbio15kqtfl1jh9d.  In other words, my browser URL is not calling for a simple file number like "1947" for the second two.  I tried editing the URL to call for 1948 or 1949 (just guessing), but the php response is that my account cannot do that.   Any ideas?  Perhaps if each file was posted in a separate response?  Anyway, THANKS FOR HELPING ME!

You're welcome. :)

And now? It wasn't your browser, but mine, sorry. ;)
I just re-uploaded the files, it should work.

Cheers!

@vivelalto - YES!  They work great now!  And THANKS SO VERY VERY MUCH!   BTW, if there is anything I can do to try to repay you and others for this, such as fine-tuning subs to fix dashes, casing, as you mentioned, please tell me.  I have Juber and have started to use it a little.  Long way to go b4 I will become skilled, but the desire is there..

Thanks, Jack

I tried my hand at editing the commercial break timing on the Rich Brother Poor Brother subs to fit the HDTV.x264-c4tv file version.  It could still use some work, but it seems closer for the version I have.  If someone were to try it and see if it is OK, perhaps it could be uploaded to Addic7ed?

thanks,  Jack

Hello.  I have been away for some time and was hoping that someone might have posted subtitles for the second and third episodes of RESCUE DOG-SUPER DOG, but apparently not.  I tried searching the site that Spiny Norman suggested, but no luck there.  Does anyone have any advice on where I could locate "raw" files?  I could try to clean them up and help get them in shape for addic7ed, perhaps.

Thanks, Jack

Perhaps a partial answer to my own inquiry - RESCUE DOG-SUPER DOG was shown on Channel 4, not BBC.  At their Player site, the "S" button (that is supposed to indicate if the show has subtitles) is greyed-out on my player, perhaps indicating there were no subs provided.  But the video itself won't play for me either, since I am not in the appropriate region to view it, and therefore this is not proof-positive that there are no subtitles available.

Once again, THANK YOU! vivelalto!  You are amazing and truly a "Hot-Subber"!  I would gladly do the work of finding and posting these, but I dont seem to be able to find the raw files anywhere.  Jack

Vivelalto - My wife and I enjoyed episodes 2 and 3 of Rescue Dog extremely much - thank you again!  Now, not wanting to be pests, we are searching for episodes 2 and 3 of Escape to the Chateau, another Channel 4 offering.  Once again, my meager sources fail me - do you have any suggestions where to go hunting?  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.  Jack and Kristine

Hi, jreynolds. I can give you the raw subtitles for those 2 episodes. You'll just have to shift the lines a little bit using a subtitle editor software or simply the player you use on your PC in order for them to be in sync with the version you downloaded.

Escape to the Chateau - 01x02 - Chickens, Heating and a Blank Canvas.srt

Escape to the Chateau - 01x03 - Moat, Pineapple Chandeliers and a Wedding.srt

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, explosiveskull!  I have an editor program and have learned how to do shifting.  We enjoyed the first episode of "Escape" and now will be able to enjoy the others, thanks to you.   Jack and Kristine

UPDATE - The "Escape to the Chateau files you posted work nearly perfectly with the mp4 files I had.  So, no time shifting was needed.  THANKS AGAIN, explosiveskull!
