alex28
What is HDTV? High-definition television (HDTV) is a digital television broadcasting system with a significantly higher resolution than traditional formats (NTSC, SECAM, PAL). There are three resolutions used: 720p - 1280 × 720 pixels, progressive encoding. 1080p - 1920 × 1080 pixels, progressive encoding. 1080i - 1920 × 1080 pixels, interlaced encoding. Due to interlacing 1080i has twice the frame-rate but half the resolution of a 1080p signal using the same bandwidth. This is to compare with todays NTSC and PAL formats: NTSC - 720 x 480 pixels. AL 768 x 576 pixels. Can I use my DVD-Player to watch the HD-Releases? No. There are no DVD-players today that supports the x264 codec. You are stuck with your computer or your HTPC. Hook up your computer to your HD-Compatible TV and you are there. Which Player software can I use? You can use several players to watch your x264 Movies. My favorites are: VLC This one has it's own x264 codec. Download MPC This is my absolute favorite. But you will need to download a few codecs first. Download Zoom Player DownloadWhat codecs do I need? CCCP Codec Pack - This pack has all you need to watch x264 HD Releases. - Download Or we can do it the harder way (but better playback). Haali Media splitter - Splitter for MKV. Download FFDshow-tryouts - Splitter for MKV. Download CoreAVC - Codec for x264 (use this instead of FFDshow if you want to). Download VSFilter - For subtitles. Download Changing the world. One subtitle at a time.
