DrJackson
"Are we talking a character, and was him/her integral part in a long-running, one-word-only-title programme?" Sorry - I should have said. Yes, yes, and.... Yes. [...] For clarification - is it a British production? doc. The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do! spyderspyder
Another clue: Yale and Cambridge (the real one)... M.D., Ph.D., A.P.A... Not bad for someone named after a lab rat and an avian stalker. s. PS: I will not be here after Tuesday morning, until next week; so you'd better work harder. Maybe some more clues... s. spyderspyder
This is a character in a US TV show. The title of the show is one word (like 97% of them, it seems). The name of this character is not the name of the show. s. Important links: Forum Help.Never look before you leap, it'll spoil the surprise. DrJackson
That means Adrian Monk is out of question. So, This is a character in a US TV show. The title of the show is one word (like 97% of them, it seems). The name of this character is not the name of the show. Could be the name of that show "Profiler"? doc. spyderspyder
No. Here's another clue: More than a little snobbish: it was said that "...he would eat a worm if it had a French name". Whatever - he is certainly fond of the finer things in life, and was heard in a restaurant to order,"...une petite filet mignon, very lean; not so lean that it lacks flavor, but not so fat that it leaves drippings on the plate. And I don't want it cooked. Just lightly seared on either side, pink in the middle; not true pink, but not a mauve either, something in between. s. DrJackson
Aha !!! And that character, M.D., Ph.D, A.P.A was played between 1993 and 2004, in a spin off of an American sitcom. 203 appereances in that sitcom and all 264 episode appearances on his spin off show. Aha !!! I'm going back to search for the name of that character, I hope no one will be faster than me! cheers, doc. The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do! Alice
"...une petite filet mignon, very lean;... And doc, you won, I couldn't kept my breath any longer. LOL!By bet is on Dr. Frasier W. spyderspyder
B'jour, mes enfants! I am returned! You are wrong, Doc, and Alice is right - Niles Crane is the answer. "Oh, brother, your OCD is showing - or is it just another fashion statement gone awry?" As well as being a fastidious, fussy snob - and a fashion freak - Niles exhibits many characteristics of OCD, especially mysophobia. "Yale and Cambridge..." Frasier went to Harvard, not Yale, and didn't go to Cambridge - he did, however, go to Oxford. "une petite filet mignon, very lean..." Is a line from Episode 1x03, "Dinner at Eight". (Which is the next episode I will be watching in my re-viewing of this most excellent comedy series, the quality of which seems beyond today's writers and producers.) However... It seems that Alice's need to breathe has landed her in the hot seat again! Cheers, s. Important links: Forum Help.Never look before you leap, it'll spoil the surprise.
