dieselboy
Hello! I often use your transcriptions to watch tv shows. I'm a translator from english to a bulgarian and i want to thank you for you great help to all of the translators. i have question for you: How can i adjust the time between the subtitles? I want to set up a minimal time difference between the subtitles 0,150 sec. I want to know with which program can i do that. Workshop doesn't have such feature. At least I can't find it. Example: 01.300 -> 03.300 Hi! 03.450 -> 06.200 How are you? 06.350 -> 09.020 Fine. 09.170 -> 12.000 Where you've been? If you could help me with this proble,I'll be very grateful. Thank you! dieselboy - Bulgaria.

dieselboy
01.300 -> 03.432 Hi! 03.450 -> 06.280 How are you? 06.350 -> 09.123 Fine. 09.170 -> 12.000 Where you've been? to became: 01.300 -> 03.300 Hi! 03.450 -> 06.200 How are you? 06.350 -> 09.020 Fine. 09.170 -> 12.000 Where you've been? If that's the original timing and all the tiime differences are shorter than 0,100, i must adjust them manually, one by one. For that reason i want to know if there is a program, which automatically adjust them all to 0,100 or 0,200 or 0,300 sec. It'll save me a great deal of time and nerves. honeybunny
So the end timing of subtitle n should be the start timing of subtitle n+1 (which remains the same) - 150ms. I'll ask around.

Nikolaj cooked up this 'test' for you "It's not there... but I've made a small test: http://www.nikse.dk/se/SETest.rar (tools -> bottom item)" I haven't had time to try it yet. Looks like you'll also want to http://www.nikse.dk/se/sebeta.rar because the test is only the executable. Download the beta, and either rename, or overwrite the .exe with the SETest.rar version. burak68
Try SubMagic http://www.submagic.tk/ It's no longer in development and a bit buggy but the best "1-click" subfix app to my experience. Go to "Fix Errors" Tab (3rd from the top) and adjust the "Fix (too) short duration" to your liking. Good luck.
linwelin
You can do it easily with visualsubsync: http://sourceforge.net/projects/visualsubsync/files/VisualSubSync/ and http://www.visualsubsync.org/home Simply add the plugins available on this page: http://nathbot.frox.fr/vss/doku.php Download the "Presets SW1, 2 et 3 (US) (23.976 fps)" pack, delete the folders "Presets" and "Plugin" in your VSS folder, and unzip the pack at the location where the two deleted folders were. Create your project and use "check errors". You'll see errors called "overlap on next subtitle". The presets SW2 and SW3 don't have the blank you want, but you can fix it by editing the presets in notepad++ or another software of the kind. alex28
Thread moved to Subtitles -> FAQ / Tutorials Changing the world. One subtitle at a time.
rogard
You can also do it quite nicely with gaupol editor. Tools -> Adjust Durations -> Gap between Subtitles = 0,150 sec. Subtitle workshop can do something similar. You can increase or reduce the length of each line by a fixed amount, let's say 0,150 secs. Edit ->Timings -> Time Expander/Reducer (or press SHIFT + CTRL +Y) There you activate "Reduce", enter the amount of time, untick "Only if..." as needed. Activate "For all subtitles".
