Hello forum members,

I have a question that Google couldn't specifically answer...
when you say someone's/something's lands with a thud,
what exactly do you mean?

Thank in advance, DC.

A 'thud' is the sound made when an object, in this case a person
lands usually on a surface making a sound.

thud (th d) n. 1. A dull sound, as that of a heavy object striking a solid surface. 2. A blow or fall causing such a sound. intr.v. thud·ded, thud·ding, thuds.

example from The Mentalist S03x14

114
00:04:48,819 --> 00:04:50,860
(thud)
Ow! I'm fine.

from a scene with Agent Lisbon.

The reference is only found in the 'HI' version.
