nothingness495
Can somebody help please? I found some English subs in http://subtitles.toh.info/4od.html I tried adjusting the subs using Subtitle Workshop, but I can't even get the first sub right. The subs are not compatible with the following episodes: 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12 So, the good ones are: 4, 11 I've uploaded the subs I've downloaded here: (1-12, 8 is missing)http://hotfile.com/dl/99835483/2b4c198/the-f-word-s05.rar.html These are the vids I used:http://isohunt.com/****_details/187459241/the+f+word?tab=summary

nothingness495
I tried Subtitle Edit too. After adjusting the first episode subtitles, the first and last sections of the subs seem to be synchronized. But it was horrible in between. Does anybody know what downloads these subs are compatible with? try Subtitle Edit (www.nikse.dk) There's a tutorial here on forum too. Might be easier. Does anybody know what downloads these subs are compatible with? It's hard to say. A simple way to find out with what encoding type was video made, use VLC media player, choose TOOLS and then Codec information. I"m doing in that way when I'm unsure about video encoding. doc. nothingness495
@drjackson: What I meant to ask was "What release are the subs compatible with?" Since the srt files were downloaded from 4od, so the subs are most likely from BBC iPlayer. Any idea where those videos could be downloaded? DrJackson
I noticed that your iso link is for a pack. Try my suggestion above. You will see at last what type of codec was used for video. Another lazy suggestion is to look for video version that match your subtitles. doc. The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do! nothingness495
I compared codec information of E04 (subs OK) and E05 (subs not OK), and they were the same. >_< Oh well.
DrJackson
I tried Subtitle Edit too. [... the first and last sections of the subs seem to be synchronized. [...] Ok. With SE, open that sub that is NOT synced. Be sure that you are on Adjust TAB in SE (that controls in left lower side of the panel). Press Play on video controls. At the first spoken word, press Pause, select spoken line in sub, then press Set start and offset the rest. That means first line of sub is sync at that time. Then, scroll down some lines and check if those are synced. If not, you can figure out how delayed are, just listening the words and watching current shown line. Do same steps as above. In 15-20 min (for a newbie ) you will finish to sync that sub. doc. The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do! crvenooki
two things: first check that source video is on same framerate as subs, both should be 25 fps. second, commercial breaks. there is no room for them in 40d subtitle, but is in hdtv rip. sync first line, and look for first one that isn't synced. then shift-end, alt-m to next part that isn't synced.
